To be treated at Greater Atlanta Oral Facial Surgery, you will need to schedule a preoperative consultation with one of our oral surgeons. During this initial appointment, they will review your medical and dental history with you before performing a routine physical examination of your mouth and jaw. In some instances, they may also use 3D CT imaging technology to evaluate your condition and develop a diagnosis.
Once you have received your diagnosis, your oral surgeon will discuss your treatment plan with you. Depending on the oral maxillofacial surgery that is required to treat your condition, they will discuss options for sedation and provide you with a recommendation based on your medical history, current list of medications and comfort level. Please notify your oral surgeon of any medical conditions you have that may affect your procedure or sedation plans.
In certain circumstances, you may be able to undergo your oral maxillofacial surgery on the same day as your consultation. However, if this is not possible, your oral surgeon will schedule a second appointment for your procedure.
At Greater Atlanta Oral Facial Surgery, our oral surgeons understand the stress and discomfort associated with medical procedures. As a result, they will provide you with the compassionate care and answers you need to feel prepared. Please address any questions or concerns you may have during your consultation so you will be ready for your oral maxillofacial surgery.
